DSIK Armenia, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation (BMZ) and the German Association for International Cooperation (GIZ), is implementing the "Financial and Environmental Literacy to Promote Energy Efficiency of Communities in Armenia" (FELCA) program in the regions of Armenia.
Within the framework of this program we would like present some success stories:
#1 Sardarapat National Museum of the History of Armenian Ethnography and Liberation Struggle
The first story presents Simon Sahakyan, head of operation and preservation department of the Sardarapat National Museum of the History of Armenian Ethnography and Liberation Struggle, who participated in FELCA project (Financial and Environmental Literacy to Promote Energy Efficiency of Communities in Armenia) which was held at the museum.
He was so inspired with the training, that, with the consent director of the museum, started an initiative to replace the old bulbs into new energy efficient ones. Moreover, he plans to install solar panels using less resources from the environment.
#2 Verin Artashat community of Ararat region
One of the participants of our program, Narek Shahnazaryan, who lives in Verin Artashat community of Ararat region, contacted us. Being inspired by our project, by the help of energy savings meter, which was created within the framework of the program, made some calculations and installed thermal insulation of their living room ceiling. He thinks that the program is very necessary and appropriate.
The participants highly appreciate the effectiveness and the role of the trainings
We get such positive results as proper selection of the target group and the very important topics have been considered into consideration.
#3 Aragatsotn region, Ohanavan community
After the training, one of the participants, a young man, shared his impressions in Ohanavan community. Receiving many offers and suggestions, we organized the second course. Vergine Yesayan, an aunt of this young man, was among of the participants.
The motivation was so high, so she intended to fulfill her business idea, opening an ecohotel in their community. The gained knowledge and skills will be used in her business realization plan.
She intends to use energy-efficient և energy-saving light bulbs, as well as exterior and interior thermal insulation using meters.
Thanks to our program, very soon, Ohanavan community will have the best energy-efficient, energy-saving eco-guest house.
#4 Lori Marz, Saramej community
After the training, the head of the community Tamara Minasyan, and her husband, Edgar Hovhannisyan, without additional support of a specialist, just with the help of energy savings meter, insulated the outside walls of their house.
