German Sparkassenstiftung Southern Caucasus and Ukraine operates within the framework of Deutsche Sparkassenstiftung Head Office in Bonn, Germany.

German Sparkassenstiftung is the development-policy arm of the German Sparkassen Finance Group. Its task is to disseminate the successful Sparkassen model across regional borders and around the globe. By enabling people in developing countries and emerging economies to access financial services, it aims to create opportunities that will allow them to leave poverty behind.

The overall objective of the current project "Promotion of rural finance for sustainable MSE development in the South Caucasus and Ukraine" is to strengthen the economic participation of the target group through improved access to and use of financial services in rural areas. In this way, the project contributes to the sustainable improvement of living conditions and the reduction of rural flight.

Based on previous experience in the region, the project seeks to establish successful cooperation networks with local partners as a strong building block for the future.

German Sparkassenstiftung in the South Caucasus and Ukraine has its regional office in Tbilisi (Georgia), and country offices in the capitals of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Ukraine with a staff of 22.
